We are a design and construction company out of Batesville, Indiana. Kyle Walterman and Amy Gutzwiller have over 25 years of experience in building and remodeling homes. Our company is new but our decades of construction knowledge come from our education and previous work experience. Kyle and Amy joined together in 2018 and formed Evergreen. You will find personalized attention through every step of the building process. Whether a small or large project, we are grateful for your business and make it our #1 priority to show you our value. The Gutzwiller name is rich in tradition with having over 100 years of family experience in construction. Amy Gutzwiller

I was born and raised in a SW suburb of Chicago but have spent the majority of my adult life in Indiana, which I’m grateful to call home. My first 4-years in Indiana were spent at Purdue University, West Lafayette where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree and where I began to appreciate the Hoosier culture.
Through my years of working in the interior design and construction industry, I have professionally transformed a variety of spaces including residential and commercial interiors. My sensitivity to color and creativity led me to start noticing how different spaces made me feel, leading me into this ever changing and rewarding field. I love to inspire prospective clients by showing them how the design process can be fun and simple.
There is ease of access to inspirational design ideas, which is helpful, but it can be stressful to try to incorporate on your own. I love to take on that step for you and help make those spaces a reflection of you while forming a comforting place to make timeless memories. Amplified by the people and relationships I have encountered, my empathetic nature has encouraged me to think about how interiors can shape our life experiences.

I was born in Greensburg, Indiana and have grown up in this area my whole life. I have been around construction since my childhood days. My family has always had ties to the construction field. At the age of 23, I decided to start Kyle Walterman Construction. I was fortunate to have built a successful business for 21 years. Since merging with Evergreen Design & Construction, my passion for building the future and restoring the past has never been greater. I really enjoy the sense of pride after a project has been completed and all expectations have been met. I look forward to many more years of what this great profession has to offer.
Hayley Laker
Design Manager
I was born and raised in Batesville, which led me to love the sense of community and quaintness of living in a small town. Therefore, it was a no-brainer for me to want to return back to my hometown after graduating from Ball State University where I studied both Interior Design and Construction Management. Having a background in both areas allows me to be a great asset for everything Evergreen Design & Construction has to offer.
I love a good challenge of configuring plans/drawings that encompasses your overall vision and is efficient in meeting all your needs. Creating unique, custom layouts is feasible with the help of my keen eye for detail. I’m truly looking forward to establishing my career in the design and construction industry.
